After a solid close to the 2019 season, Team BENIK will kick off their 2020 campaign at the opening round of the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Winter Series. Taking place at the AMR Motorplex in the shadows of the Homestead-Miami Speedway, Team BENIK will enter eight drivers in their first event of the new season.

"We are excited to start the 2020 season and can't wait to continue the momentum from the last half of 2019," explained Nick Mitchell. "We have made big gains between the SKUSA SuperNationals and the first event of 2020 and believe that will be shown in our on-track performance as well as overall look in our operation."

Team BENIK will have three competitors in the X30 Junior category. Michael Costello has moved to the X30 Junior ranks after a successful 2019 campaign as he will join second year BENIK pilot Marcelo Paniccia. After a successful Mini Swift career, Cameron Weinberg will level up to KA100 Junior after a very strong close to 2019 and will join Jamie Lockhart. Lockhart will pull double duty in Homestead as he will be the only Team BENIK entry to compete in both X30 Junior and KA100 Junior, aiming for the podium in a pair of different classes.

Mitchell continued, "We have a quartet of drivers across the Micro and Mini categories that are all fairly fresh into karting and/or with Team BENIK. We are looking forward to assisting these drivers in every way possible to give them the experience, knowledge and advice they need to be successful. These four are motivated to do well so I am confident in all of their futures."

Miami's Caleb Duenas will throw his hat into the Mini Swift mix aboard a Team BENIK chassis as he will be joined by Canadian Celkin Wong, who will make his debut with the team. Asher Ochstein gained experience with the Florida based program in his first twelve months of racing and enters his sophomore season with renewed focus and energy. Carson Weinberg, younger brother for X30 Junior driver Cameron, will aim to take the Weinberg name to the front of the field in Micro Swift.

On track action will kick off this Thursday and Friday with practice while two separate race days over Saturday and Sunday will provide the first winners of the season. Stay tuned to Team BENIK's social media pages for news, information, photos and results from the event.
