Seven drivers set to ROK the Rio with Christian Bird Motorsports
Matt Jaskol highlights the Colorado based team's entry list.
Looking to close their 2019 ROK Cup USA program out on a high note, the Colorado based Christian Bird Motorsports has entered seven drivers for the upcoming ROK the RIO. Taking place adjacent to the RIO All-Suites Hotel and Casino in the heart of Las Vegas, Nevada, seven drivers will be scattered across four racing divisions as they look to add ROK the RIO Champion to their respective resumes.
"We have a strong lineup of drivers and can't wait to get to Las Vegas," explained Christian Bird. "Some of our competitors took on the ROK Fest event in Amarillo earlier this year as a test and it immediately piqued their interest on the Vegas race. The ROK program is one of the most well-run series in the country, and their schedule is conducive to our drivers and their families."
Leading the way into Las Vegas and making a return to karting will be Matt Jaskol. The former Formula BMW driver and multi-time karting champion will pilot a CRG chassis in the Vortex ROK Shifter class in his quest for ROK the RIO glory. Having not started a competitive karting event in quite some time, Jaskol recently completed a test at Christian Bird Motorsports home facility, Grand Junction Motor Speedway, and put his ROK Shifter powered CRG through the paces.
Perennial junior frontrunner and multi-time 2019 race winner Liam Letzsch will head the way for Christian Bird Motorsports in the Vortex ROK Junior division. As one of the main drivers to beat in the Colorado region, Letzsch is looking towards a national program in 2020 and will look to build the momentum at the RIO. Joining Liam in the Junior ROK class will be Deanna Hoffman, who has been honing her skills at the Colorado Karting Tour in 2019.
Leo Kosman and Alan Cortes will make the trek to Las Vegas as the duo will compete in the 100cc Masters division and utilize the new Vortex ROK VLR engine platform. While both drivers have seen action in different classes in 2019, Kosman and Cortes will fly the Christian Bird Motorsports flag at ROK the RIO.
Finishing third in the Colorado Karting Tour Micro championship in 2019, Gage Korn is set to make his Las Vegas debut. Piloting a Christian Bird Motorsports prepared Vortex Micro ROK, Korn will compete in the youngest class that the ROK Cup USA program has to offer. Joining Korn in Micro ROK in Las Vegas will be Alexander Gevorkyan.
