Speed Concepts Racing continues winning streak at New Castle Motorsports Park with Kyffin Simpson

Under sunny blue skies and Chamber of Commerce weather, Speed Concepts Racing capped off their 2019 Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Pro Tour with one win and three podium results this past weekend. Taking place at the slightly altered New Castle Motorsports Park facility in Spiceland Indiana, Kyffin Simpson led the way for the team with one win and two podium results in KA100 Junior while Luke Lange claimed another podium result in X30 Junior.

Taking Saturday by storm, Simpson was a man on a mission in the KA100 Junior class. With some bad luck in his X30 Junior kart, Simpson made up for it during both days of wheel-to-wheel action in his 100cc powered ride to finish first and third.

“Scoring a win in SKUSA competition is big, no matter what the class,” stated Mike Speed. “Kyffin has been competing in two classes all year long to double up on track time and gain experience. This weekend it paid off as even though his results in X30 were hindered by on track contact and issues, he managed to keep his head on his shoulders and perform when asked.”

Taking the main event victory on Saturday, Simpson battled for the third step of the podium on Sunday en route to scoring the fastest lap of the main event.

Luke Lange added a pair of top-ten results in Indiana as he returned to the facility that he performed so very well at in 2018. Winning Saturday's X30 Junior prefinal and battling all the way to the finish line in the main event, Lange climbed his way to the second step of the podium before returning to the track Sunday to finish ninth.

Paul Bocuse continued with his momentum from the previous two events with a stellar drive in Saturday's prefinal. Battling with some of the top junior drivers in the country, Bocuse managed to shove his way forward to finish fifth and line up inside row three for the day's main event. Sunday saw the up-and-coming talent narrowly miss the top-ten with an 11th place finish out of a field of more than 45.

Jace Park and Jack Jeffers combined to pass 52 karts total in Sunday's main event as both drivers had to overcome trouble in the prefinal. With the duo showing great speed on Saturday but with track conditions changing, both drivers drove like seasoned veterans on Sunday. Park gained 27 positions in the final while Jeffers picked off 25 drivers.

Canadian Mini Swift driver Ayden Ingratta had some serious pace this past weekend as he battled his way to the front of one of the most competitive fields in karting. Qualifying sixth on Saturday and finishing second on track in the prefinal, Ingratta was a victim of lack of respect with other drivers not knowing or trusting him, and some inexperience in the main event as he dropped to just outside the top-ten in 13th. Returning Sunday with the goal to finish well, Ingratta secured a ninth place finish, one of his best results in SKUSA Pro Tour competition.

Speed continued, “There is one name that should be on our results sheet that isn't as unfortunately, as Luca Mars suffered an injury pre event in a non karting related incident. All of us at Speed Concepts Racing wish Luca our well wishes and can't wait to have him back at the track in the very near future.”

With several national karting series now complete for 2019, Speed Concepts Racing has their sights firmly planted on the ROK Cup USA ROK the RIO and the SKUSA SuperNationals in Las Vegas, Nevada later this year.
