Twelve wins and eight championships for OTK at Superkarts! USA SummerNationals
33 podiums added to OTK's North American karting resume.
It was the final event of the 2019 Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Pro Tour this past weekend at New Castle Motorsports Park and just as it has been in previous event weekends, the OTK line of products came out on top. Taking home twelve victories, thirty-three podiums and an astounding eight championships, the leading chassis provider worldwide proved why they are number one.
Showing their chassis strength from several different drivers, it was more apparent than ever in the X30 Junior category that an OTK chassis is the one to have. Scoring podiums with six different drivers from four different teams on three different OTK branded chassis, the Italian chassis manufacturer dominated the X30 Junior division. Bryson Morris (Rolison - Kosmic) led the way on Saturday ahead of Luke Lange (Speed Concepts - Tony Kart) and 2019 SKUSA X30 Junior Champion Freddie Slater (Supertune - Tony Kart). On Sunday, John Burke (Supertune - Tony Kart) outdueled Brent Crews (Kartsport North America - FA) and Branyon Tiner (Rolison - Kosmic) in an OTK podium sweep.
In the talent-filled Mini Swift class, Anderson Leonard (Supertune - Tony Kart) managed to stand on the podium twice over the weekend finishing third on Saturday and leveling up to the top step of the podium Sunday. Chasing Kai Sorensen across the line in the day one wheel-to-wheel action, Sorensen was penalized in his victory and relegated back to tenth. Sunday the 2019 Mini Swift Champion redeemed himself with a strong second place result.
It was three different drivers scoring two podiums each in the KA100 Junior class at the SKUSA SummerNats as Kyffin Simpson (Speed Concepts - Tony Kart) took Saturday's win and returned to the track on Sunday to finish third. Connor Zilisch (Late Apex Karting - Tony Kart) finished second on Saturday and returned Sunday to add another win to OTK's results resume while local driver Logan Adams (Comet Racing - FA) secured second and third place results.
Ryan Norberg (Rolison - Kosmic) continued his dominance in X30 Senior. Scoring multiple victories throughout the 2019 season, the trend continued as Norberg found his way to the top of the results sheet come the end of the day on Saturday. Samuel Lupien (Rolison - Kosmic) put two OTK chassis on the podium in one of SKUSA's largest classes of competition. Sunday would see Brandon Jaroscrack (Mike Doty Racing - Kosmic) return to his winning ways in an OTK podium sweep. 2019 SKUSA X30 Champion Ryan Norberg crossed the line in P2 while Lupien made his second trip to the podium in as many days with a third place result.
Matt Johnson (Nash Motorsportz - FA) was a double victor in the X30 Masters class as he dominated the elder division all weekend long. Renato David (Orsolon - Tony Kart) kept Johnson in check, scoring a pair of second place results to make it an OTK Kart 1 - 2 finish during both days of competition. In the X30 Super Masters class, Jon Persing (Nash Motorsportz - FA Kart) finished third on Saturday, but climbed two more steps of the podium on Sunday to top the blocks and solidify the series title. Steve Martin (2Wild Karting - Tony Kart) garnered a second place finish on Sunday.
Garret Adams (Comet - FA Kart) secured another two podiums including one victory for the most popular karting brand in the world. Taking Sunday's KA100 Senior win, Adams improved from Saturday's third place result to score the big win. Austin Osborne (Iron Rock - Tony Kart) was victorious on Saturday while Pauly Massimino (Mike Doty Racing - Kosmic) crossed the line second on Sunday.
A pair of third place finishes were also reordered over the weekend in Pro 2 and Micro Swift as Dalton Egger (Rolison - Kosmic) and Jack Iliffe (Iron Rock - Tony Kart) both found their way to the podium.
"OTK Kart USA would like to congratulate all of our drivers on continuing to push our products to the podium," explained Luis Ruibal. "A huge thank you to all of our dealers for their hard work and support and providing your drivers with the tools to do their best. Can't wait for the next race!"
