USPKS Creates Winner's Circle Program for Race Teams

New incentive for USPKS teams in 2018.

Since its inception, the United States Pro Kart Series (USPKS) has been supported and followed by some of the top kart racing teams in North America.  The Series recognizes the huge commitments these teams make to the sport and their racers.  Seemingly endless hours on the road and days away from home and families, are all the part of the “gig”, when you are part of a traveling race team.  But, there is a tremendous sense of pride when your Team is successful, that feeling can make it all worthwhile.  In an effort to create a little more tangible benefit to that success, the USPKS has created a Team Winner's Circle program.

The basic premise of the program is that the USPKS wants to make sure that we get the best of the best at all our events, at that they are properly recognized.  So beginning with the 2018 season, the most successful Team in USPKS competition, will be awarded a new traveling trophy, custom created for this purpose.  The winning team will also be given a free race entry to each USPKS event in the 2019 season, to use as they wish.  In addition, the Series will display the winning Team's banner at each event in 2019.

To qualify for the Team Winner's Circle Program, Teams must meet the following requirements:

  • Must field at least two entries in every raceday of the season (6 days in 2018).
  • Team drivers do not need to be on the same chassis or engine, just register with the Team name when they enter.  Once competition starts for the weekend, team registration is closed.

The Teams will earn 3 points for each victory, 2 points for each second place finish, and 1 point for each third place finish in Feature competition.  The Team points will be totaled each weekend and published, and at the end of the final race of the season, the winning Team will receive the award.

The Team Winner's Circle (TWC) trophy will be designed as a traveling trophy and named after one of the original founders of USPKS, and a beloved member of the karting community, George Sieracki.  George's commitment to karting spans decades, working tirelessly in volunteer capacities for many karting organizations, including USPKS, Route 66 Sprint Series, Badger Kart Club, WKA, and more.   George has been a fixture at all of our races and continues to epitomize the term “Team Spirit”, jumping in and lending a hand whenever needed.  It seemed only fitting that the Team Winner's Circle award be named the Geo Cup.

More details on the TWC program will follow as we near the race season, as well as the full racer prize package and Racer Winner's Circle program for 2018.

The United States Pro Kart Series sincerely hopes that the program is part of everyone's racing calendar in 2018 and beyond.  For more information, visit www.uspks.com or follow them on Facebook.
