2020 Australian national karting calendar announced

Karting Australia has today confirmed the schedule for the 2020 National Calendar of Events.

The schedule includes dates for the SP Tools Australian Kart Championship presented by Castrol EDGE, Sparco Rotax Pro Tour, Race of Stars and Ultimate Club Racer events.

The Australian Kart Championship will begin in South Australia on February 28-March 1 before heading to Victoria on April 17-19.

Teams and Competitors will then contest the mid-year round on June 19-21 in Queensland before heading to New South Wales on the first weekend in August. The Grand Final will take place in Victoria on September 11-13.

Potential Host Clubs from the host States will be requested to submit an expression of interest in the next week, following the receipt of which, venues will be announced next month.

With the vision of planning for the future, throughout the coming months Karting Australia will be investigating the potential of hosting a round of the Australian Kart Championship in Western Australia as a part of the 2021 schedule.

The National Series — Rotax Pro Tour — will be contested across four rounds in 2020 across three states. Victoria will host the Series opener and closer, with rounds two and three to be contested in Queensland and New South Wales respectively.

The 2020 Race of Stars event is scheduled for October 22-24 with the Ultimate Club Racer II to be held on November 13-15.

Also noted on the National Schedule is the third Building Better Kart Clubs Conference, to be held on August 22/23, 2020.
