Route 66 Sprint Series releases 2021 schedule and class lineup

The Route 66 Series is renewing its commitment to variety and diversity in venues, while class structure remains unchanged.

The Route 66 Sprint Series, presented by MG Tires and Franklin Motorsports is delighted to finally present it 2021 racing program.

For 2021, the Route 66 Series is renewing its commitment to variety and diversity in venues. In 2020, Covid restrictions ultimately limited our choices, but for 2021, more options are available again.

2021 will see the season open at New Castle Motorsports Park in New Castle, IN on April 17-18. This time around, Route 66 will utilize a different track layout than the Series has ever used before. Following the trip to Indiana, the Series will make its only visit to Wisconsin in 2021. Rounds 3 & 4 will be held June 26-27, at CTECH MFG Motorplex at Road America, the week right before NASCAR visits the big track. Road America was a racer favorite in 2020, and is on the USPKS national calendar again in 2021, just two weeks after the Route 66 event, so competition at the Regional should be extra stout. The third weekend for Route 66 will be August 28-29, at a venue that is yet to be confirmed. And to cap it all off, the season finale will once again be at Mid-State Kart Club in Dawson, IL on September 18-19. All events will feature the normal Saturday – Sunday racing format, with an optional practice session on Friday.

It is the full intention of the Series to once again have a grand banquet and awards ceremony in 2021 if gathering limits allow for it.

The class structure will remain unchanged for 2021. The current class structure has been well received and the classes need time to grow and mature. We are all looking forward to a restful offseason, followed by an exciting 2021 racing program!

In addition to the full four weekend points championship, the Route 66 Sprint Series will be presenting the inaugural KA-LO Nationals, featuring IAME KA100, IAME Swift, and Briggs LO206 classes exclusively. Make room in your schedule on June 4-6, 2021 for a trip to the newly remodeled Motorsports Country Club of Cincinnati, located in Batavia, OH. More information on this new, one of a kind event, coming soon!
