Another solid weekend of racing in the heart of Wine Country

The fourth round of the ROK Sonoma program took place June 15 and 16th at the Simraceway Performance Karting Center at Sonoma Raceway. Taking place at the .91-mile wine country facility, the growing program continues to add drivers as the ROK engine platform is gaining market share in the state of California and now shift their focus to round five in just over three weeks' time on July 21st.

Senior ROK-Feature Race

Taking the ROK Senior pole position, William Ferguson utilized the momentum from the timed session to carry the top position throughout the day. Taking both pre-final victories, Ferguson went on to sweep the day taking the main event win by just over three seconds. Dakota White garnered the second position as she equaled the leader's gap back to third place Ryan Martin. Rithik Ranadive and Eddie Shimmon rounded out the top five.

80 Masters/125 Limited

The combined 125 Shifter Limited and 80cc Masters combined class saw Charles Hastings take the overall win as well as the 125 Shifter Limited class win. Brian Devert and Richard Hillemann added podium results in class while Roger Cornwall took top honors in the 80cc Masters class. Matt Kattanek and Tom Nelson secured podium finishes with Allen Miller and Bob Bigiogni finishing top five in class.

Master ROK Shifter

It was the Kevin Woods show in the Masters ROK Shifter class as he dominated the day, taking the pole position and main event win. Claiming the checkers by a nine second margin on route to the fastest lap of the race, Woods defeated fellow podium winners Patrick O'Neill and Michael Guasch. Jim Inglebright and Neil Joseph put up solid fights for the podium but came up just short finishing fourth and fifth on the weekend.

Senior ROK Shifter

It was Enzo Prevost who scored the Senior ROK Shifter pole position, but it was Nic LeDuc who topped the podium blocks at the end of the 25-lap final. Not having the quickest kart on the track, LeDuc took the win by only a few tenths of a second over Worawong Komarakul and Zach Pettinicchi who rounded out the podium. Prevost salvaged a fourth-place finish to go along with his pole position earlier that day while Aiden O'Neill rounded out the top five. Prefinal two winner Tom Dyer had a strong weekend of competition but fell back in the main event to cross the line in sixth.

Micro/Mini ROK

With the future of the sport coming through the Cadet and Junior ranks of karting, one of the ones to watch is Alex Rantala who scored the Mini ROK Main event win. Out dueling pole sitter Anthony White to the checkered flag, the duo finished just under four seconds ahead of third place podium winner Adam Freire. Christian Cameron had a strong showing to finish fourth while Derek Domingos drove to the end to secure a fifth-place result. Adam Freire's younger brother Andrew Freire took the top honors in the Vortex Micro ROK category.

Junior ROK

Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Series competitor and Newman Wachs Racing driver Nolan Siegel returned to the ROK Sonoma program and found his way to the top step of the podium in ROK Junior. Jakob Paepke was classified in second after finishing third on track while Jacob Franks stood on the third step of the podium.

Master ROK

It was the Eric Molinatti show in ROK Masters as a pole position, two pre-final wins and a Main event victory allowed him to sweep the round three of the ROK Sonoma program. John Breidinger put up a solid fight in his drive to the second step of the podium while David Palic came home third.
