DR Racing Kart North America shows great presence in Indianapolis

The DR Racing Kart North America operation showed a great presence at the second annual USAC Battle at the Brickyard event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway July 6-8,2018. With nineteen entries under the red and black army's livery, compiled from four dealers from across the country, the DR Racing Kart brand was very well versed in the racing capitol of the world.

The group with the largest DR presence was the 125 Honda/KZ category. With thirty total entries in class, seven of them would fly the DR colours. DRT team pilot Collin Daley would be the driver to beat throughout the event, but an unfortunate loss of position in the opening laps of the final would force him to chase down the leader, whom had gapped the field at the point Collin returned to second. Close behind Collin's second place drive, the veteran drive, Josh Lane, would show pace with the front of the pack and bring home an impressive fourth place. The hard charger of the shifter category, Joe Ruch of Frontier Autosport, would come from last place after a mechanic DNF in the prefinal, to finish fifth in the final. The excellent example of experience and race craft would have him advance 25 positions in fourteen laps. Tony Malito, Aaron Bromberek, and Cole Peschang would also show good pace throughout the event, finishing twelfth, sixteenth, and eighteenth in the final.

The DR Racing Kart brand would also show great pace with the 125 Honda/KZ Masters category. After seizing a top end in the prefinal, Lance Lane would pilot his M99 chassis from a very impressive last to second place drive. Glen Critchett, who is a native to the road racing scene, would pick up to the circuit at IMS very well, bringing home a sixth place finish in Sunday's main. Chad Lee and Jason Brown, of CC Motorsports, would race inside the top five all weekend, but have to settle for P8 and P11 in the final.

The TaG categories in the US are always stacked with talent, and this years Battle at the Brickyard was no exception. Aaron Bromberek, team driver for BRT, was up front in the TaG senior category throughout the whole event, taking home a very impressive seventh place finish. DRT Racing's team owner, Don Guilbeault, competed in the TaG masters devision, bringing home a fifth place on the weekend. LAD Specialties director Scott Grenier and BRT's Robert Bromberek would take home ninth and tenth on Sunday, solidifying all four of the DR TaG entries placing within the top ten.

Drivers Chad Clay and Michael Gay would both pilot the new 2018 Torq chassis in the 206 masters category. After struggling with engine issues all weekend, both drivers would fight forward from the tail of the 40+ kart field. Michael Gay would break into the top fifteen with a fourteenth place finish, and Chad Clay would fight to a solid twenty first place finish.
