Speed Concepts Racing hungrier than ever entering entering Superkarts! USA Pro Tour
SCR heads to NOLA Motorsports Park.
With nearly two months of racing under their belt in the 2018 season, Speed Concepts Racing is prepared and ready to attack the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Pro Tour in New Orleans, Louisiana. With the first event taking place at the multi-track facility, team drivers will shoot for the top step of the podium as they look to master the tricky and challenging facility.
“NOLA provides a big challenge for both drivers and tuners,†explained industry veteran Mike Speed. “The track is very long and flowing and requires a good setup, but also great driving; any loss of momentum definitely hurts. As always, we will work hard to provide our drivers with the best possible packages to challenge for the win.â€ÂÂÂÂ
Six drivers will fly the Speed Concepts Racing colors with three entering the IAME Mini Swift division while the other three will do battle in X30 Junior. In the tough Mini Swift class, Noah Baker, Paul Bocuse and Alex Powell will attempt to put SCR on the top step of the podium with all three showing great speed as of late. Competing at both of the popular winter karting programs, Baker, Bocuse and Powell have been in the seat a lot in both racing competition and testing, allowing them to gain experience and race craft in several situations.
Justin Arseneau, Tyler Gonzalez and Kyffin Simpson will be Speed Concepts Racing trio in X30 Junior. Arseneau showed tremendous speed in the final round of the SKUSA Winter Series scoring his best results to date as a junior. Gonzalez has been able to top the blocks and stand on the podium in multiple occasions in 2018 while Kyffin Simpson has proved to have race winning speed and progressed as a rookie, turning heads in recent events.
Speed continued, “I really believe that we have the drivers and the equipment to run at the front of the field. We need to have luck on our side but I know our drivers, mechanics, coaches and myself are hungry for victories.â€ÂÂÂÂ
Unofficial practice will take place on Thursday with official sessions beginning Friday morning. Wheel-to-wheel competition will commence on Saturday with two full days of racing action.
